FAQ About Notaries

1. What is a Mobile Notary Public? A Mobile Notary Public is a notary who travels to the client's location to notarize documents. This service offers convenience for the client by allowing them to have their documents notarized at a time and place that suits them.

2. What types of documents can you notarize? A Mobile Notary can notarize a wide range of documents including, but not limited to, affidavits, loan documents, real estate documents, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and legal contracts

3. How much does your Mobile Notary service cost? The cost can vary depending on location, the number of documents to be notarized, and travel distance. Generally, fees can range from $25 to $100 or more, plus travel fees. It’s best to ask for a quote ahead of time.

4.Are there additional fees for traveling? Yes, most Mobile Notaries charge an additional travel fee, which can depend on the distance traveled and the time of day. Always request a detailed fee structure before booking the service.

5. How should I (The Client) prepare for your visit? Ensure you have valid government-issued photo identification, the documents that need notarization, and any witnesses required, if applicable. It’s also a good idea to review the documents for completeness before the notary arrives.

6. How can I (The Client) verify your (The Notary Public) credentials? You can verify a notary's credentials by asking for their notary commission certificate or number and checking with your state’s Secretary of State or other appropriate regulatory agency

7. Can you notarize documents in any state? Notaries are commissioned by a particular state and generally can only notarize documents within the state they are commissioned. Some states have reciprocity agreements, but it's best to use a notary commissioned in the state where the document will be used.

8. How long does the notarization process take? The actual notarization usually takes only a few minutes per document, but allow for extra time for the notary to verify your identity, travel, and for any questions you might have.

9. What forms of identification do you accept? Commonly accepted forms of identification include a valid passport, driver’s license, or state-issued ID card. The ID must be current and contain a photograph, signature, and physical description.

10. Can you notarize documents for people who are unable to sign? Yes, typically a Mobile Notary can notarize for people who are unable to sign by using a signature by mark or by having them make a designated officer sign on their behalf.
